Walmart has partnered with IBM and JD.com to establish a blockchain-based service
IBM together with Walmart and JD.com are launching a new project based on the blockchain technology. The service will allow tracking food supply in China, reports CoinDesk.
The project will unite companies that supply food products to China to standardize the collection of data about manufacturers and quality of food supplies. All participants of the chain will have to confirm the data and the impossibility of deleting and data storage sequence will be ensured by blockchain.
That’s not the first project of its kind for Walmart. Earlier, the company tested an analogous system that allowed tracking pork products using blockchain.
